Tuohy Torches Another Course Record, This Time At Sunken MeadowPublished by
It's Another Big Record For Tuohy At Sunken Meadow By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor For the second week in a row, North Rockland NY junior Katelyn Tuohy has smashed a course record on a well-established layout. On Saturday, Tuohy ran 16:52.97 at Sunken Meadow on Long Island at the Suffolk County Officials Cross Country Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park, which is the site of this year’s New York state championship meet. Former Foot Locker national champion Aisling Cuffe held the record with 17:45. Tuohy’s time would have placed third in the varsity boys race and she won her race by 97 seconds. A week ago, Tuohy won the Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park in New Jersey – breaking that hallowed course record by more than a minute. |
